The city of Brisbane is situated in Queensland, also known as the "Sunshine State". Its no surprise that it receives almost 300 days of sunshine a year. The sub-tropical climate is characterised by hot, humid summers and mild winters. Average temperatures during the summer months of December, January and February reach 30°C, days can be intensely hot and cool clothes, hats and sunscreen are an absolute necessity. Winter months are mild with warm days and cool nights.
